Coming up this month are some exciting events, including the following:

 

• CHRISTMAS EVE CELEBRATIONS IN YUNGABURRA (Friday 24 December 2010) - In the Main Street and park. Come an meet Santa. Great for the whole family.  Free entry.

• MAREEBA MARKETS (Saturday 8 January 2011) - From 7AM till 12 noon in Centenary Park, Mareeba.

Monthly Markets Guide - Atherton Tablelands

Every weekend there is a market on the Atherton Tablelands, including the following:

 

• YUNGABURRA MARKETS (4th Saturday of each month) - From 8AM till 12 noon in Bruce Jones park, Yungaburra.  See www.yungaburramarkets.com for more details.
• MAREEBA MARKETS (2nd Saturday of each month) - From 7AM till 12 noon in Centenary Park, Mareeba.

 

Annual Events - Lake Tinaroo and the Atherton Tablelands

The Atherton Tablelands is surprising full of festivals, events and entertainment. Below are just a few local annual events:

 

• TABLELANDS FOLK FESTIVAL (Usually held in October each year) - "Feel the music" at the Tablelands Folk Festival held in Yungaburra. Running over 4 days and showcasing emerging to established artists across 5 stages and over 65 concerts, plus 15 workshops, market stalls, jam sessions and a parade. • BARRA BASH (Usually held over a watery moon in October/November each year) - Long held tradition of weekend fishing. Currently no website exists for the Barra Bash.
• TASTE OF THE TABLELANDS (Usually held in October each year) - Food festival showcasing locally grown and produced products, including wine, coffee, cheese, chocolate and many other delectable treats. The day usually includes all manner of live entertainment from music to chef cook offs.  
• AUSTRALIA DAY (Each year on the 26 January) - Celebrate Australia Day in Malanda with fun family activities, a citizenship ceremony and the announcement of the regional Australia Day Awards. See www.trc.qld.gov.au for more details.
